NARRATOR: "Full-Time Kid" with Mya.
[child giggling] Have you ever wanted to eat wobbly watermelon?
Hi, I'm Mya.
And today I'm gonna teach you how to make some jello melon.
You will need a watermelon or cantaloupe.
We used a personal sized one.
And knife-- we used a serrated knife.
A bowl, one packet or three ounces of red gelatin, some brown sprinkles, 3/4 cup of boiling water, 1/2 cup of cold water, an ice cream scoop or spoon, some paper towels, and an adult.
[applause] The first thing that you want to do is cut your watermelon in half length-wise.
Make sure to cut a little piece off on the bottom so it stays upright in the fridge.
[upbeat music playing] It's beautiful!
Now, using a spoon or ice cream scoop, scoop out the insides.
You can save these to eat later.
(SINGING) I'm scoping out the guts of a watermelon to make a jello melon.
Now that we scooped out the insides, it looks like a big bowl.
There might be some juice inside, so we're gonna use your paper towel to pat it dry.
It's not called the watermelon for nothing.
Now that the watermelon is dry, let's get our jello ready.
To make the gelatin, pour the powder into the bowl.
Then add your boiling water.
Be very careful.
Success!
Now, mix until smooth.
Once it's smooth, add in your cold water.
After you mix it, put it in the fridge for about 15 minutes to thicken.
After your hello thickens a bit in the fridge for 15 minutes, you're gonna pour into your melon bowl.
Try not to spill.
Mah, mah, mah, mah.
Before the jello sets, pour in some brown sprinkles.
These will look like seeds.
Now let the jello thicken in your fridge for three hours.
While you're waiting for the jello to get firm, you can either play outside, play video games, or do what I like to do-- spin around until your brain turns into jello!
[upbeat music playing] Whoa.
After three hours, which might have been spent spinning like me, the jello should be ready.
Jiggle jiggle jiggle jiggle jiggle jiggle whoo whoo!
Now, ask an adult to use a serrated knife to cut it into pieces.
[laughter] Jiggle jiggle jiggle jiggle.
This looks awesome!
Let's try it.
Ah-- Umm.
Mm!
I'm going to finish eating this.
Jiggle jiggle jiggle jiggle jiggle jiggle jiggle jiggle jiggle jiggle jiggle jiggle.
See you next time!
It splattered on my face.
[laughs] [laughs] WOMAN: We can get that later.
[laughs] I wasn't trying to hit you.
