Today we're asking a wild# question.
What would happen if you fell into a black hole?
Spoiler alert, not a trip you're# going to come back from.
First, as you got close, you're going to see some weird effects.
Black# holes are these big massive gravity wells, and they're so massive that their gravity# bends light itself.
Stars behind the black hole from your perspective would warp and# smear into strange shapes around its edge.
That edge is called the event horizon.
That's# the point of no return.
Cross it and nothing, not even light, can escape.
Thus, black hole.
Now,# what happens if you actually fall in?
One word, spaghettification.
Because the black hole gravity# is much stronger at your feet than at your head.
Your body would stretch out like a big noodle.# You'd be pulled thinner and thinner until, let's just say, you wouldn't survive the trip.
From your# perspective, you would seem to fall right through, but to an outside observer watching you, it# would look like you had slowed down at the event horizon, fading into darkness, never quite# crossing over.
See, that's the strange thing about black holes.
Well, one of many.
What you see# depends on where you're looking at them from.
So, if you ever find yourself near a black hole,# please don't jump in unless you want to become cosmic spaghetti.
Thanks for watching,# Star Gazers.
As always, keep looking up.
